Chris Ofili, along with seven other leading international artists, were asked to create a print to celebrate the ICA's 75th anniversary.

Crowning of a Satyr (2023) keeps the viewer’s eye in constant motion as the curving figures, rich colours and glistening gold leaf swirl our attention around the paper as we delve into Ofili’s dazzling and disorientating fantasy land.

Ofili draws on a wide range of sources - including jazz and hip hop music, the Bible, and the works of artist and poet William Blake. Adopting simple, pared-down forms, his work continues to be just as expansive, dramatic and romantic - full of references to sensuality, sexuality and his ongoing exploration of Biblical themes.
